Open Access Zone

Open Access Zone in the main hall of the Silesian Library is a place of comfort and relax Informatorium is also a place for individual study, providing access to computers with Internet connection.. You do not need a library card to read inside books and magazines displayed on the shelves and to listen to audiobooks. The library members can additionally watch a movie or borrow books. In the Open Access Zone there is an open access to the new releases (fiction and non-fiction books, guides, comics, regional and historical literature, film and music publications, children’s books, audiobooks).

For the youngest readers there was prepared a corner with educational or colouring books.

Informatorium

Reading room provides reference collection of informational-bibliographic character (encyclopaedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, information materials).

In the reading room you can find traditional catalogues: alphabetic and systematic one. Informatorium is also a place for individual study, providing access to computers with Internet connection.

Available for readers:

  • 3 computers with access to Internet,
  • 1 computer with access to interlibrary digital loan system Academica,
  • 1 microfilm reader.
